Aiden Field (アイデン・フィールド, Aiden Fīrudo^?) is a character in the Violet Evergarden series, and the protagonist of the third chapter of the first volume of the light novel. He is a soldier who encounters Violet while on a mission.

Appearance

Aiden is a young man with a slender, muscular build and dark blond hair.

History

As a child, Aiden proclaimed to his parents that he would become a baseball player. He was talented at the sport enough to bear ambitions towards it, and, after graduating, he had already decided to join a prestigious baseball team. Although he was a small town boy, perhaps he could indeed become a professional player. To him, such a future was already certain.

However, that path was no longer open. As Aiden grew up, instead of becoming a baseball star, he found himself on the battlefield, within the dense forest of a continent far away from his beloved homeland. The enemy nation that his country fought against kept an oilfield drilling facility in secret. The mission of the 34th National Army, which Aiden belonged to, was to charge into the facility and take complete control of it.

Relationships

• Parents - Aiden loves and respects his parents deeply and is happy that they have shown him so much love. He feels guilty about making them worry about him.
• Maria - Aiden's childhood friend. He initially only saw her as a little sister, but after she confessed to him, he realized that he probably liked her too. However, he could not make any advances before leaving to join the army, which he regretted. In his last moments, he wished to be with Maria and to kiss her.
