Summary[]
The story is told in two diary entries written by Violet and Gilbert respectively about the same day. During the day, they went shopping and encountered a stray dog that Gilbert had met and gave affection to several times before, though Gilbert is reluctant to adopt it. Later in the day, it starts to rain heavily. Violet and Gilbert, worried about the dog, go out to search for it. Gilbert reveals that he had already named the dog "Claudia." They find the dog and take it back home.
