Oscar Webster (オスカー・ウェブスター, Osukā Webusutā?) is a character in the Violet Evergarden series, and the protagonist of the first chapter of the first volume of the light novel. He is a playwright that cannot write anymore due to the deaths of his wife and daughter, which is why he lives alone in an old, run-down home in Roswell and secludes himself. Seeking to write his very first children's play and dedicate it to his daughter's memory, he entrusts Violet with the task of bringing his ideas to paper.

Appearance

Oscar is a man in the prime of his life. He has unruly red hair with a curl and thick, black-rimmed glasses. His back is slightly hunched, but his face lends him an air of youthfulness. He always wears a sweater as a result of being sensitive to cold.
